Dogwood Alliance’s Wilmington Kick-Off
Our Forest Aren’t Fuel Campaign
Right now, southern forests are being clear-cut, trucked to facilities, put through an energy-intensive production process, sent across the ocean to Europe, and burned under the guise of renewable energy. Port facilities for biomass companies like Enviva are currently being constructed in downtown, and will eventually increase traffic, noise and air pollution for the Sunset Park community.
Our forests here in North Carolina provide us flood protection, recreation, carbon storage, and increase our quality of life. That’s why we’re building a movement here to demand more sustainable policies and protect our forests, communities and wetlands.
Join us at our kick off on January 21st at 7 PM to find out more about the campaign and what you can do to help.
RSVP here to let us know you can make it, and bring a friend!
